INDIA - Creating Space Yoga Retreats
From the day my lovely wife bought me my first camera, I dreamed of becoming a professional travel photographer. Exploring the wonders of world with my camera in hand, In my mind, what could be better than that? To me it seemed like it would be a really long way into the future, but I was ok with that, and I understood that the best things in life take time, effort and patience.
To my surprise, earlier this year, Taran, owner of Creating Space Yoga Retreats approached me with the idea of joining her in India to be her official photographer.... This blew me away. I honestly couldn't believe that my first travel photography gig would happen so early in my career. Before I go any further, i just wanted thank Taran so much for choosing me to photograph her retreat. It was one of the highlights of my life so far and I'm eternally grateful.
India. The best way I can think to describe it is a chaotic collision of intensity, vibrancy, spirituality and flavour, India is insane! From the roar of Delhi to the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas, India is a must for travellers who want to experience something completely different.
My trip started in the heart of Delhi, from here I was able to take a day trip to one of the 7 wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal was mind blowing. The sheer size and immaculate design really does validate is position as a wonder of the world.
Next was Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world, situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and the Ganges river. I met with Taran and the rest of the group here as we started the retreat. We spent the next few days diving into two sessions of daily yoga and exploring the town before we headed off deeper into the Himalayan mountain range to camping in a really remote rural village and beyond to the peaks of the mountains.
I know that writing probably isn't one of my strongest points, so I've decided to stop babbling. I think the pictures below will do a much better job at telling the story than I could ever explain.
